My industry background
We previously owned The Alpine Angler specialist Freshwater & Flyfishing tackle store in Cooma NSW – which had the largest on-line mail order flyfishing tackle business in the country when we sold in 2006. We launched Whitney Mitchell Real Estate in Hervey Bay with business partners, bringing new cutting edge video marketing to our market. We then moved onto launch Mitchells Realty in 2016 – again introducing 3D Matterport virtual tours into our market. We are generally always positioned in the top three highest performing sales teams in Hervey Bay. I was also the chairman of the former Fraser Coast Fishing Alliance which I formed to “correct” the Great Sandy Marine Park which was an eighteen year campaign. I am proud of the outcome from the GSMP review and grateful to have been acknowledged for that work by receiving the John Craig memorial award at the last Tourism Awards night in 2025.

I have been self employed for just about my entire life with wife Katrina , having owned three successful companies and have always maintained small longterm staff team members through fostering a positive culture.
