Working in commercial property, I spend a lot of time speaking with businesses looking for space across Hervey Bay and the ideas that come through are always interesting.
Some are practical.
Some are ambitious.
Some are exactly what the region needs right now.
We’re seeing steady growth across the Fraser Coast. New operators entering the market, existing businesses expanding and more people choosing to live and work locally.
It’s an exciting time but it also raises an important question:
Outside of what’s currently happening in the market… what’s still missing?
Because the most successful businesses don’t just come from strategy or data, they come from lived experience. From people who see a gap and locals who know what they would genuinely support.
Personally, I’d love to see something like a family friendly play café or even an outdoor drive in movie experience. As a wife and mum of two, having more options where families can spend time together and actually enjoy it ourselves would be amazing. Hervey Bay is already a beautiful place to raise a family and more offerings like these would only strengthen that and attract other young professionals and families to the region.
So I’m curious:
If you could open one business in Hervey Bay tomorrow… what would it be?
