Fraser Coast Property Industry Association

Who I am
Rebekah Hemerik
Family Lawyer – focusing on family law and domestic violence

What I do
My current focus is in the family law and domestic violence fields. I have worked in the industry for over 5 years, where I started as a Paralegal and have now worked my way up to being an Associate Lawyer that is in charge of the Fraser Coast branch of the firm I work for. I am known for providing a caring, supportive and informative approach to family law.

My strengths
I bring the perspective of a young professional to the mentoring relationship, meaning that mentees are gaining insights and support from someone that has recently experienced the same struggles

My industry background
I have over 5 years experience in the family law space. Prior to that, I worked at Brisbane City Council and Queensland Police Service in administration roles. Across my years of working, I have completed a number of degrees and had a child. Anyone that is working while studying, or has children, knows that is a great feat by itself.

How I support a mentee
I provide a supportive and straight forward approach to mentoring. If you are looking for general life advice and assistance, I will give that to you in a clear and sensible manner. If you are looking for specific family law, or any type of law, advice, I will guide you based on my experience and what has worked for me.

Who I work best with
I work best with any type of mentee that actually wants to put effort into their development. Being specific, I would love to help guide a mum with young children on managing a career and the responsibilities of raising children.

A personal note
On a personal note, I love coffee, being outdoors and having a laugh. I can be serious, but I also know laughing at yourself or a situation can improve any mood, even momentarily. I value open, honest communication.
